Music Theater Works celebrated its 2018 season Saturday with its annual spring gala benefit, Magical, Musical Moments: An Evening of Sullivan, Porter and Sondheim, at the Sunset Ridge Country Club in Northfield. The gala is the largest annual fundraiser for the Evanston based Music Theater Works and included a VIP reception, dinner, silent and live auctions, and a musical program with highlights of the upcoming 2018 season.

The Music Modernization Act, rolled out Tuesday, will allow artists to receive fair market compensation for their songs that are played on digital streaming services, such as Spotify and Pandora. For artists, like three-time Grammy Award winners Little Big Town, it offers relief to outdated laws.
